French interior and upholstery by Sophie Bailly
The “Bridge chair” is a classic shape for the Art deco period (ca. 1930) along with the monumental “Club”. The “bridge” is a light and comfortable chair featuring bentwood arms, firm seat and trapeze back. Light and easy to move, it was initially meant to be used to play the eponymous cards game. Today, it can fit any kind of interior, depending what fabric you pick. Here, Celine picked a very soft “Suzani” pattern, light grey background playing with pink, orange and burgundy hues. The soft orange piping brings a nice and tonic contrasting finish.
